The Australian reported today on the fact that Victoria is witnessing one of its biggest ever populations booms, and is expected by the Australian Bureau of Statistics expecting to reach 10.1M by mid-century.

The equivalent of the whole city of Ballarat, about 127,000 people, moved to Victoria in the year ended September 2016. A disproportionate number were from interstate, especially NSW.

A quotable quote from the report:: “Melbourne is only 10% behind Sydney’s population, but house prices are 30% behind”.

Melbourne is set to become Australia’s largest city by 2031, or earlier.

Investors should take heed of interest rates and employment rates but one trend they should always follow is populations growth.

Strategic Buyers Agents is very experienced in buying for investors in booming Melbourne, and Victoria’s fast-growing regional Ballarat and Bendigo.
